January 2005 Meeting

Our first meeting of 2005 was held on January 29th at the Arden-Dimmick Library. Some new people showed up who had seen us mentioned in the Sacramento Bee article on Lego Robotics. A photographer from the Bee came by to take pictures for an article on the club scheduled to appear on Thursday, Feb. 3.

We had a lot of MOCs on display, including three of Jason's mecha, Roy's San Francisco streets and fire station, Markham's ships, and Jody's spinning monkey. There was a large BrikWars game with the largest layout we've ever had, with lots of MOCs and terrain from Jackson, Douglas, and Markham.

We had the usual building area with club brick.

There was a huge game of Brikwars, with terrain covering a nearly 8x16 foot area.

Douglas built a trebuchet for his BrikWars army. Jackson had a great tanker for Elephant brand gasoline. Nathaniel built a large Bionicle creature.

Jackson brought a large amount of interesting terrain with all sorts of themes for BrikWars.

Jason brought all three of his amazing mecha. The blue one took a few tumbles off the table but was successfully rebuilt!

Markham built an excellent ship with a cool drop nose. His BrikWars army consists of an interesting variety of creations, including a vehicle with a Chicken Blaster!

Roy brought his San Francisco street, with a new blue Victorian still under construction, the large fire station, and a variety of other MOCs. Also on display was his collection of HO Scale Lego vehicles from the 1960s.
